Fun stuff

WE love getting deliveries! Yesterday was no exception, and we received lots of goodies!
Feast your eyes on this beautiful Bridal Hanger for our very own Kati Kerekes soon to be Kati McDougle!
Here is a sneak peak of her save the date magnet with Holiday Greeting. Let me just say how much I love the graphic we designed for her. If you all do not already know Kati and Bryan are huge Dave Mathews Band fans. Their graphic was inspired by Dave Mathews coffee rings graphic, which is used throughout a lot of his branding.
The back story of where the two "coffee circles" on the DMB came from: What happened is they are coffee stains that were on a napkin Dave was using during the recording process. Dave was having coffee with the cup on the napkin, and it left those 2 stains, and the story goes that when he picked it up the second time, and looked down he saw the rings and thought they were cool, and decided to make them their little BTCS symbol.

We infused their wedding colors into the design and spruced it up a notch to make it more fitting for their wedding.

The final greeting was printed on opaque vellum :)

I could not be more pleased with how these save the date postcards turned out! They are super cute and totally fitting for a Apple Orchard wedding and Rustin Barn reception. Whats your wedding style?

I’m all about wedding styles, mostly because as a planner for an event design company, it helps me to know what types of things a bride is going to like. However, I’ve found that when I ask brides what their wedding’s style is, they really don’t know. “Classic” and “elegant” is what I hear a lot of. And it’s what I see a lot of too.

So how do you figure out what your wedding style is?

All of the answers are in how you live your life. Do you wear heels everywhere you go and have friends asking you to go shopping with them all the time? Maybe your style is chic defined as style and elegance.

Or maybe you and your fiance are the type of people who love being outside. You’re always biking, hiking, going the beach, playing sports, etc etc. You met a mutual friend’s barbeque or your first date was going surfing. It’s probably a no brainer to have an intimate backyard wedding, surrounded by your family and closest friends.

And of course we can’t forget the stylish, eclectic brides. Fun, spontaneous, and always looking ways to put a twist on things, you want a wedding that your guests most likely have never been to before. You and/or your fiance are most likely have some sort of artistic career, and you both have a flair for design. Oh, and no matter what he says, your fiance probably wants to have a say in how things are going to look for your wedding. And you’ll probably DIY some pretty awesome stuff.

Of course there are a TON more styles for weddings. I used the most popular styles for these, but of course there’s still the always popular garden wedding, and the occasional rustic celebration, among many more.) The best way to discover your wedding style is to look at everything about you and your fiance. From what you wear, to your jobs, to what you do for fun. You want your wedding to be a reflection of BOTH of YOU, not your venue, not your parents, and not what you *think* a wedding is *supposed* to be like. So before you make any solid decisions, figure out your wedding style!

Introducing Kati Kerekes

I’m excited to officially announce an Elite Events promotion! Please say Hello to Kati Kerekes our Elite Events Event Coordinator and Office Manager! Most of our 2010 and 2011 clients already know Kati– she’s been working at Elite Events since January of 2009 as my right hand woman, assistant, and associate planner. She has assisted me on nearly all of our amazing weddings and events. To know Kati is to know that she loves three things: DMB, Fashion and Dancing! There's actually so many more things that she loves but when I think of her,those three things come to mind:) She is overly energetic, extremely passionate about what she does, incredible smart, talented, and helpful. Sometimes I wonder how we existed without her! I have learned so much from her this past year and she continues to inspire me– and everyone that surrounds her!


Kati is meeting with clients for 2011 and 2012 events, working both 2 month out Coordination and enhanced services. You’ll be hearing a lot more from her on here as she blogs about her own events, thoughts, and inspiration! In the meantime, you can leave her a little love here on the blog!

Runway Worthy Linens!

Who doesn't just LOVE gorgeous Linens! In my opinion linens are a must for any event, and no one does linen better than Wildflower Linen. They are one of my favorite suppliers for unique and stunning linens. And here is a big shocker for you they are originally based in LA! If you
have never heard of them before you will be in awe :) here’s a little more for you to digest, from their Open House Event in their new Phoenix Arizona showroom. I can’t wait til Song expands out here…I will be right on board!

Wildflower Linen celebrates yet another milestone with an Open House Event for our brand new showroom. But this time, it’s not fun in the sun in “cool” California, it’s fun in the sun in “hot” Arizona! And when Wildflower Linen says open house, we not only mean great food, people and fun; but get ready for amazing style and great entertainment too! What better way to show off our linens than in a showroom, on the tables and again on the runway; a fashion show runway showcasing our designer table linen and chair covers for rent!

Katrina and Andrew from Sedona Bride Photography captured the most amazing images from the event and were nice enough to let us grab a sneak peek.

This is our 3rd fashion show this year and they keep getting better and better! Pro-em played a pivotal role in making this event a success with their tent, lighting and rentals, while sierra bonita catering , shelley’s specialty desserts and pour masters wined and dined guests!
Gorgeous models showcased Wildflower Linen’s latest collections as well as signature favorites by wearing the designs across a floral and rose petal runway carpet created by events by showstoppers.
If it weren’t a treat in itself just to have a runway showing of linens, this runway is to die for! I would love to see this at a wedding in Northwest OHIO!

Gorgeous beyond words. I could see myself walking around in any of these.

We also had amazing floral designers create tablescapes for the event, Arizona style… of course!! We LOVE how designers can take the same linen and with different elements, florals and visions, a whole new feel and concept is created! Each one worked with a theme and these are their amazing creations:





Petal Pushers created this lovely tablescape using our custom Lauren linen and Marilyn Chair Covers for their “wedding” inspired theme.



When asked to do a “southwest” themed table to really appreciate the styles of Arizona, md design didn’t hold anything back. Using our new Carrington linen, they truly captured the beauty and feel of Arizona.

Along with the amazing petal runway, Events by Showstoppers created this lovely “wedding” inspired table using the Carolyn Linen and chair covers in champagne.

This table linen is perfect for any purple wedding. The variety of shade and texture are perfect for multiple uses!Flora Bella created a playful “Girls luncheon” themed table using the custom Juliet Linen in lavendar and Venus Chair Covers.

Ghost chairs, something blue and a touch of white…so crisp and clean. This would be a fun look for a Persian wedding.
This vibrant tablescape created by Avante-Garde Studio using Iridescent taffeta aquamarineand turquoise jeweled chair covers is the perfect compliment to create this “holiday” inspired theme.



Oh my Elite Brides! This is an fabulous concept to start with for a bridal shower or a bachelorette night. May just a girls night in! Pink and Black are ever a hot color combination…and I see it being even more in 2011 (we have 2 elite events with this exact scheme:). I know a local source in Michigan just recently got a linen very similar to this as well…to die for!
